Volleyball Game Preview: Stevenson Patriots vs. Lake Zurich Bears + How To Watch

The Stevenson Patriots will take on the Lake Zurich Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Stevenson is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Richmond-Burton just ended the team's eight-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Rockets.

The losing side was boosted by Ryler Bondad, who had 11 assists and six digs.

Meanwhile, Lake Zurich can bid farewell to their three-match losing streak thanks to their match on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Lakes.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Lake Zurich was: they took both sets by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-15.

Stevenson better focus on containing Ella Elsen and Samantha Makhlouf as the pair were huge in Lake Zurich's win. Elsen had ten assists and two aces, while Makhlouf had four aces and one assist. Those four aces gave Makhlouf a new career-high.

Stevenson's loss dropped their record down to 21-11. As for Lake Zurich, their victory bumped their record up to 18-13.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Wednesday's matchup: Stevenson has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Lake Zurich struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
