League recap: Yandell throws longest pass in league this season for Clovis

Fans got a thrill when Dakota Yandell and Roland Chavez connected against Volcano Vista. The connection went for 63 yards, the longest such play in 5A District 4 this season.

Clovis took down the Hawks 47-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Shaprie Bryant ran for 349 yards during the win.

The Wildcats' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Yandell threw for 86 and 1 touchdown and Chavez had 63 yards receiving. On the ground Bryant contributed 349 yards. Travon Sopila helped Clovis' passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 23 yards.

Clovis' dynamic duo of Yandell and Chavez proved tough for Volcano Vista to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Sopila helped Clovis' passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 23 yards.

Bryant was a beast in the backfield as Eric Roanhaus' team defeated Chad Wallin's team.

Bryant provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Wildcats bested the Hawks.

6-foot-5 quarterback Rodney Holcon of Carlsbad is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,763. He has also thrown 21 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Sopila. The Clovis star has 18 catches for 492 yards.

Clovis led the league in scoring this week by notching 47 points on Volcano Vista. Bryant in the win.
