Baseball Preview: Taylor Wildcats vs. Keystone Heights Indians

The Taylor Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Keystone Heights Indians on Monday. Keystone Heights took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Taylor, who comes in off a win.

Taylor is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Monday, just like they did against Crooms Academy (and have done all season long). Everything went Taylor's way against Crooms Academy on Friday as Taylor made off with a 12-2 win. 12 seems to be a good number for Taylor as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Drew Moyer made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Moyer was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Jace Harcus was excellent, going 2-for-2 with three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Jackson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Keystone Heights' good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clay. Keystone Heights has struggled against Clay recently, as their contest on Thursday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Keystone Heights saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Screen, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with a double. Screen has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive pitching appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Taylor and bumps their season record up to 9-14. As for Keystone Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 18-7.
