Basketball Game Preview: Olentangy Berlin Bears vs. Dublin Jerome Celtics

The Olentangy Berlin Bears will head out to challenge the Dublin Jerome Celtics at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Olentangy Berlin came up short against Dublin Coffman and fell 55-44. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bears came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Shamrocks are ranked 253rd).

Despite the loss, Olentangy Berlin saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Addi Trowbridge went 5 for 11 on her way to 14 points. Kelsey Grubbs was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Dublin Jerome's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 48-34 bruising from St. Vincent-St. Mary.

Olentangy Berlin dropped their record down to 11-9 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Dublin Jerome, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4.

Olentangy Berlin came up short against Dublin Jerome in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 48-36. Can Olentangy Berlin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
