Akins hasn't had much luck against Westlake recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Akins Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Westlake Chaparrals at 8:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Akins needed a bit of extra time to put away Dripping Springs. They secured a 47-43 W over the Tigers. The win was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 519th, while the Tigers are ranked 252nd).

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Westlake beat Dripping Springs 51-46 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chaparrals.

Westlake's victory bumped their record up to 23-7. As for Akins, their win bumped their record up to 14-17.
