Baseball Recap: Scio's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Scio's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Amity Warriors. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Loggers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Hunter Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Haydin Tibbs and Carter Flack did most of the damage at the plate: Tibbs went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Flack went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Flack a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Siegmund, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Scio kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-12. As for Amity, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Amity will challenge Dayton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a five-game losing streak. Scio will be paying especially close attention to Amity's game: after Amity faces off against Dayton, they'll take on Scio again at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
