Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask O'Connor). They breezed by the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions to the tune of 103-18 on Friday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Mountain Lions are ranked 187th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

O'Connor had a senior duo take command as Savannah Helms went 9 of 13 en route to 22 points and six steals and Bella Elsholz went 7 for 15 on her way to 16 points and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Helms has scored all season. Audrey Bhesania was another key player, going 6 of 8 en route to 15 points.

O'Connor was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.

O'Connor is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Mountain Ridge, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. O'Connor will square off against Boulder Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boulder Creek has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with six straight losses, while O'Connor will come in with seven straight victories. As for Mountain Ridge, they will take on Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
