Basketball Recap: University's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

University's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They managed a 52-47 win over the Brighton Cardinals. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

LaTrevius Gant had another great game (as he tends to do), going 6-for-11 en route to 20 points and three blocks. Those three blocks gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexington Griffin, who shot 70% from the field to rack up 16 points.

University now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Brighton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.

University has already played their next matchup, a 76-41 win against Soulsville on the 16th. Brighton will take on Lausanne Collegiate in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals' defense better be ready for this one: the Lynx have averaged an impressive 68.6 points per game this season.
