Softball Recap: St. Clair County Comes Up Short

St. Clair County lost to Pell City back in March of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Fighting Saints fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. The Fighting Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maggie Nabors was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, St. Clair County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayla Bass, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base. Bass has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

St. Clair County's record is now 11-15-1. As for Pell City, their record now sits at 11-7-2.

Looking ahead, St. Clair County will face off against White Plains at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pell City, they will take on Albertville at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
