Basketball Recap: Triumph Charter Extends Winning Streak to Three

Triumph Charter won the last time they faced Vaughn, and Antonio Garcia III did his part to make sure it happened again. The Triumph Charter Jaguars put the hurt on the Vaughn White Tigers with a sharp 66-45 win on Monday thanks in part to Garcia III, who dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 11 boards, and ten steals. His afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Several White Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ruben Herrera, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds gave Herrera a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Cano, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

The victory was the third in a row for Triumph Charter, bringing their record for this year to 7-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Vaughn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Triumph Charter will welcome Community Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vaughn, they will host Sherman Oaks CES at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
