Volleyball Game Preview: Hononegah Indians vs. Stevenson Patriots

The Hononegah Indians will challenge the Stevenson Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hononegah comes in on four and Stevenson on 12.

On Thursday, Hononegah was able to grind out a solid win over Belvidere, taking the game 2-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Hononegah took both sets by at least 15 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-10.

Hononegah relied on the efforts of Jack Allen, who had eight kills and seven aces, and Owen Rollinson, who had three digs and one block. Rollinson is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 14 or more in each of the last ten games he's played.

They weren't the only good server: Hononegah was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in April.

Meanwhile, Stevenson beat Lake Forest 2-0 on Wednesday.

Stevenson not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Lake Forest between 18 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-20.

Hononegah's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-5. As for Stevenson, their record now sits at 17-6.
