Fort Calhoun typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Douglas County West proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Pioneers. That's more bragging rights for the Falcon, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Douglas County West walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-20, 25-11, 25-21.

Leading Douglas County West to victory were Abby Rayer and Amelia North. Rayer had nine digs and six assists, while North had five digs and three aces. What's more, North posted three kills, the most she's had over her last 13 contests.

Douglas County West's win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 11-8. As for Fort Calhoun, their loss ended a seven-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Douglas County West and West Point-Beemer will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort Calhoun, they will take on Ashland-Greenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
