Baseball Recap: Bryan Takes a Loss

After flying high against Benson last Tuesday, Bryan came back down to earth. The Bears fell just short of the Omaha Northwest Huskies by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Karol Hernandez and Westin Williams stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hernandez scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Williams went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Williams is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Turner Marlowe was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Bryan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Omaha Northwest, their record is now an identical 3-8.

Bryan has already played their next match, a 19-3 loss against South Sioux City on the 12th. As for Omaha Northwest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-2 defeat against Roncalli Catholic on the 12th.
