Palo Verde faced Silverado in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Skyhawks with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Skyhawks: they've now won five in a row.

Palo Verde not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Silverado between 13 and 16 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-14, 25-16.

Despite the defeat, Silverado had strong showings from Rayden Inong, who had 12 digs and one assist, and Kiechi Watanabe, who had nine digs and eight kills. Watanabe has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 12 times he's played.

Palo Verde's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Silverado, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17.
