Clay is 8-2 against Ross since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Eagles will welcome the Little Giants at 5:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Friday, Clay had just enough and edged out Ottawa Hills 6-5.

George Edwards looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Landon Eversman was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Alex Goetz, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Ross owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Findlay 1-0. Surprisingly, this marked the Little Giants' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
The result came thanks to Cameron Joseph's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Ross saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cade Reineck, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Ross' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Clay, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Clay has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Ross struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Clay beat Ross 4-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Little Giants turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
