Football Game Preview: Laurel Bulldogs vs. Lake Forest Spartans + How To Watch

The Laurel Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Lake Forest Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Laurel is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Delaware's top teams: Archmere Academy, who was ranked 13th at the time (Laurel was ranked 20th). The Bulldogs took a blow against the Auks on Saturday, falling 42-6. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Meanwhile, Lake Forest strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 42-14 victory over Milford. Considering the Spartans have won six games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Laurel better keep an eye on Demarion Russ. He was instrumental in Lake Forest's win, rushing for 134 yards and two scores on only five carries. Russ' longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Jack Parson was another key player, throwing for 140 yards and three touchdowns on only six passes.

Lake Forest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 280 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 206 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Lake Forest's record is now 7-0. As for Laurel, they dropped their record down to 4-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Laurel was taken down by Lake Forest 27-0 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
