Basketball Game Preview: Zanesville Blue Devils vs. Granville Blue Aces

Zanesville hasn't had much luck against Granville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Zanesville Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Granville Blue Aces at 7:15 p.m.

Zanesville lost 69-46 to Mt. Vernon on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Granville entered their tilt with Watkins Memorial on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They enjoyed a cozy 70-51 win over the Warriors. Given the Blue Aces' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Warriors are ranked 563rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Granville's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Zanesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Zanesville came up short against Granville in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 54-48. Can Zanesville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
