Recap: Allen East Mustangs vs. Crestview Knights
The Allen East Mustangs lost against the Crestview Knights back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Allen East fell to Crestview 56-52. While losing is never fun, Allen East can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while Crestview is ranked 152nd).
Allen East lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carson Clum, who scored 14 points along with nine assists and three steals. Clum is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Young, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Allen East and nudges their season record down to 6-6. As for Crestview, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.
Allen East will head out on the road to take on Leipsic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Crestview, they will be playing at home against Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
