Baseball Recap: James Dooman Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Maine West

While Glenbrook South's victory against Maine West wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Titans never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won six in a row.

Glenbrook South got a great performance from Roger Niedermaier as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Niedermaier also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Titans are undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 11-19 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Glenbrook South saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Dooman, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Glenbrook South's win bumped their record up to 14-19. As for Maine West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-20-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glenbrook South will challenge Grayslake Central at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Maine West, they will face off against Wheeling at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
