Volleyball Recap: Elkhart Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Elkhart duked it out with Warsaw on Saturday. The Lions came up short against the Tigers, falling 3-0. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-9, 25-16.

Serenity Rodriguez paced Elkhart's offense, picking up six kills. Rodriguez got some help from Ava Polack and her eight assists. Finally, Shaniyah Stout kept Elkhart's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Leading Warsaw to victory were Avary Hoeppner and Olivia Rooney. Hoeppner had 19 assists and five digs, while Rooney had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Rooney has posted over her last seven matches.

Elkhart's loss dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Warsaw, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.

Elkhart wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Muncie Burris on the 4th. As for Warsaw, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against NorthWood on the 4th.
