1. Natrona County (Casper)
2012-13 record: 22-5
Head coach: Douglas Diehl

Two-time Wyoming Player of the Year Kaylee Johnson will lead the way for Natrona, but the 6-foot-3 senior post also has help in the paint from Gabby Johnson. The Mustangs haven’t won a state title with the Johnsons, and this is the last chance for both.

2. East (Cheyenne)
2012-13 record: 23-5
Head coach: Rusty Horsley

The state runner-up returns seven of its top 10 scorers, but will have to rely on 5-10 backcourt siblings Rachel Erickson and Sarah Erickson to get past Natrona County. Then again, East did beat Natrona in the preseason last year.

3. Sheridan
2012-13 record: 24-3
Head coach: Derek Bissitt

The Broncs lost to East in the playoffs last year, but then shocked Natrona Country in the third-place game. The reasons? A very strong program with an outstanding guard in Robbie Ryan.

4. Campbell County (Gillette)
2012-13 record: 21-6
Head coach: Mitch Holst

Perennial Wyoming power Campbell County won another state title last year, but lost seven seniors to graduation. The Camels (love the mascot) will be young and quick, but the tallest player is 5-8.

5. Douglas
2012-13 record: 28-1
Head coach: Jaci Heny

After reeling off 28 straight wins, Douglas was upset by Star Valley in the 3A title game, but there’s plenty of firepower coming back. The key, though, is defense: Douglas held 19 of its opponents to fewer than 30 points last season.
