Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Fayetteville-Manlius

On Tuesday, the Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets earned a 47-35 victory over the Bishop Ludden Gaelic Knights. The win was all the more spectacular given the Hornets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 429th, while the Gaelic Knights are ranked 98th).

Fayetteville-Manlius' victory bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Bishop Ludden, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.

Coming up, Fayetteville-Manlius will host West Genesee at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Fayetteville-Manlius is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, West Genesee a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change. As for Bishop Ludden, they will venture away from home to take on Marcellus at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Marcellus will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Bishop Ludden surely won't give up without a fight.
