Volleyball Recap: Chatham Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

Chatham was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy Ospreys 2-1.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Chatham who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 22-25, 15-9.

Emma Faison paced Chatham's offense, picking up five kills. Faison were helped by Avery Norton and Macie Short, who contributed six assists each. Norton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Chatham has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Chatham beat the Ospreys by a score of 2-0 later that day.
