Baseball Recap: Thornton Comes Up Short

Thornton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-4 to Aurora Central. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Aurora Central this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 on April 7th.

Elias Abeyta and Ethan Stehle did some serious damage despite the final result: Abeyta got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs, while Stehle went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Thornton's record is now 0-17. As for Aurora Central, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8.

Looking ahead, Thornton will take on Adams City at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season. As for Aurora Central, they will face off against Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
