East Bernard and Kirbyville squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but East Bernard had to settle for second. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Brahmas' defeat signaled the end of their 15-game winning streak.

East Bernard saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Zarate, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

East Bernard's loss dropped their record down to 23-8. As for Kirbyville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-7 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: East Bernard beat Kirbyville by a score of 1-0 on Monday.
