Volleyball Recap: Dartmouth Starts off Right with Win over Greater New Bedford RVT + How To Watch

Dartmouth had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Greater New Bedford RVT Bears by a score of 3-1. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bears, too.

Dartmouth was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 17-25, 25-11, 25-19.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dartmouth to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sophia Rutkowski, who had seven digs and two aces. That's the most digs Rutkowski has posted since back in September of 2024.

Rutkowski wasn't the only good server: Dartmouth was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in ten consecutive games dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dartmouth will face off against Old Rochester Regional at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Greater New Bedford RVT, they will square off against Somerset Berkley Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The match will give the Bears their first taste of in-conference action this season.
