Preview: Bourne Canalmen vs. Diman RVT Bengals
After two games on the road, Bourne is heading back home. They will take on the Diman RVT Bengals at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bourne can now relate to. They fell just short of Cathedral/Matignon by a score of 30-28.
Meanwhile, Diman RVT's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by King Philip Regional on the road and fell 41-0. While losing is never fun, Diman RVT can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 212th, while King Philip Regional is ranked second).
Bourne's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Diman RVT, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Bourne didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Diman RVT when the teams last played back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 30-26 win.
