Basketball Recap: St. Catherine's Skates Past Catholic Central with Ease

There's no place like home for St. Catherine, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 78-41 blowout they got against the Catholic Central Hilltoppers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Angels also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.

Leading St. Catherine's to victory were Laila Collier-White and Aniyah Price. Collier-White went 9 for 19 on her way to 25 points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals, while Price went 7 for 13 on her way to 18 points and three steals. Collier-White's afternoon made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. La'Niyha Hamilton was another key player, putting up eight points along with five boards and four steals.

St. Catherine's now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Catholic Central, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

St. Catherine's will host Wilmot at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Catholic Central, they will venture away from home to face off against Shoreland Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
