Recap: Oakwood Academy Mustangs vs. Woodville Panthers
The Oakwood Academy Mustangs pushed their score all the way to 76 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Woodville by a score of 79-76. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Saturday (63), Oakwood Academy still had to take the loss.
Oakwood Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Daniel Jones, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Jones also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was William Lee, who scored 20 points.
Even though they lost, Oakwood Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Oakwood Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Woodville, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Oakwood Academy and Boaz will round out the year against one another at 11:30 a.m. on December 27th at. Woodville will be home for the holidays to greet Ranburne at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Ranburne will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 391st, while Woodville is ranked 131st).
