Softball Game Preview: Hudson Pirates vs. North Fayette Valley

The Hudson Pirates will challenge North Fayette Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Hudson is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Wapsie Valley on Thursday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, North Fayette Valley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Waukon on Friday. North Fayette Valley put the hurt on Waukon with a sharp 22-7 victory. North Fayette Valley has beaten Waukon the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Waukon has come to flipping the script.

The win got North Fayette Valley back to even at 1-1. As for Hudson, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Hudson couldn't quite get it done against North Fayette Valley in their previous matchup back in May of 2023 as they fell 11-7. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
