Softball Recap: Ketchikan Gets the Win

Ketchikan barely beat Juneau-Douglas the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Kings blew past the Crimson Bears 12-4 on Saturday. The Kings' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ketchikan let Vienna Pahang and Rylea Armstrong run wild. Pahang scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Armstrong went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Pahang a new career-high. Azriah McGarrigan was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Ketchikan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.

Ketchikan's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Juneau-Douglas, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-3-1.

Coincidentally, Ketchikan and Juneau-Douglas will both be playing Colony the next time they take the field. The Crimson Bears will host the Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Kings will head out to face them at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
