Recap: Pemberton Hornets vs. Medford Tech Jaguars

The Pemberton Hornets pushed their score all the way to 55 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Medford Tech by a score of 57-55. While losing is never fun, Pemberton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while Medford Tech is ranked 111th).

Tre Powell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Medford Tech, scoring 27 points along with three steals. Powell is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nesta Rice, who scored 14 points along with five assists and two steals.

Pemberton now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Medford Tech, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pemberton will square off against Cinnaminson at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Cinnaminson's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. As for Medford Tech, they will head out on the road to square off against Westampton Tech at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Westampton Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Friday.
