Baseball Game Preview: Bruce Randolph Grizzlies vs. Manual Thunderbolts

The Bruce Randolph Grizzlies will square off against the Manual Thunderbolts at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Bruce Randolph has given up an average of 13.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bruce Randolph is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-2 to Lincoln, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Bruce Randolph saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allan Nunez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Manual scored first but ultimately less than Kennedy in their match on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Commanders by a score of 15-14. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (ten), the Thunderbolts still had to take the loss.

Edgar Salas was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5. He has become a key player for Manual: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 3-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, Manual got a big performance out of Andrew Hernandez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Gott, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

This is the second loss in a row for Manual and nudges their season record down to 6-5. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Bruce Randolph, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
