Football Recap: Mahomet-Seymour Takes a Loss

Mahomet-Seymour lost against Morris back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bulldogs received a blow as they fell 33-14 to Morris. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Morris are ranked 22nd).

Although Mahomet-Seymour took the loss, they still got scores from Wade Manuel and Bryson Tiefenthaler.

Caeden Curran had an outrageously good game for Morris as he rushed for 197 yards and two TDs. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Curran a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Varner, who rushed for 36 yards and one score.

Mahomet-Seymour's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Morris, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mahomet-Seymour will venture away from home to square off against Sycamore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Morris, they will head out to challenge Peoria at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
