Softball Game Preview: North Central Eagles vs. Edon Bombers

The North Central Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Edon Bombers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Central will be strutting in after a victory while Edon will be coming in after a loss.

North Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Stryker 13-4 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Edon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Montpelier.

Nevaeh Smith made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Madison Ogden was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

The victory was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 2-7. As for Edon, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-9.

North Central might still be hurting after the 19-3 defeat they got from Edon in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
