Baseball Recap: Haxtun Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Haxtun extended their postseason success on Saturday against McClave. They put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 13-3 win. Considering the Fightin' Bulldogs have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Haxtun let Ryland Wolff and Madden Larsen run wild. Wolff got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Larsen went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Larsen has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Kash Workman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Haxtun kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McClave only managed three hits.

Haxtun's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for McClave, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Haxtun has already played their next contest, a 6-2 defeat against Flatirons Academy on the 10th. McClave does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
