Basketball Recap: Champion Comes Up Short

Champion lost against Crestview back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Champion Golden Flashes took a blow against the Crestview Rebels, falling 66-15. The contest marked the Golden Flashes' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Kennedy Caldwell was Champion's leading scorer, having posted six points. Kennedy McKee held things down on the boards with three rebounds.

It was another big night for Addison Rhodes, who posted 29 points along with six boards and four steals for Crestview. Rhodes has been hot for a while, having posted 17 or more points the last 15 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Luvrain Gaskins, who put up ten points in addition to five rebounds and four blocks.

Champion is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13. As for Crestview, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.

Champion has already played their next game, a 42-24 win against Liberty on the 3rd. As for Crestview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-21 victory against Garfield on the 3rd.
