Soccer Game Preview: Palmetto vs. South Dade

The Palmetto Panthers will square off against the South Dade Buccaneers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Palmetto is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.5 goals per game this season.

Palmetto is headed into the matchup having not lost since November 14 and will look to keep things rolling. Neither they nor Belen Jesuit could gain the upper hand last Wednesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Palmetto's goal came courtesy of Luca Segrera, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, South Dade rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They never let the Eagles onto the board and left with a 4-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Buccaneers, who have now won seven games by three goals or more so far this season.

South Dade has also been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 39 goals over those 12 matchups. Palmetto's draw gives them a new season record of 7-2-4.
