Basketball Game Preview: Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays vs. Adams Central Patriots

The Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays will take on the Adams Central Patriots at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Ashland-Greenwood comes in on three and Adams Central on four.

Ashland-Greenwood is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Kearney Catholic: they outscored them in every quarter. Ashland-Greenwood took down Kearney Catholic 48-29 on Thursday. Given the Bluejays' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Stars are ranked 102nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Adams Central got the win against Lexington on Thursday by a conclusive 68-46.

Adams Central found their leader in sophomore Kowen Rader, who posted 26 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rader has scored all season. Riley Propp was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Adams Central pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points over those games. As for Ashland-Greenwood, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.

Ashland-Greenwood lost to Adams Central on the road by a decisive 56-38 margin when the teams last played back in March of 2021. Can Ashland-Greenwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
