Baseball Recap: Bridge Creek Comes Up Short

Bridge Creek suffered their closest defeat since March 13th on Monday. They fell just short of the Purcell Dragons by a score of 5-3. The Bobcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Dragons from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Bridge Creek saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Russell, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI. That RBI was Russell's first of the season.

Bridge Creek's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 2.8 runs. As for Purcell, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 11-8.

Coming up, Bridge Creek will be playing in front of their home fans against Pauls Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Purcell, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 win against Shawnee on the 3rd.
