Baseball Game Preview: Lamar County Bulldogs vs. Sulligent Blue Devils

For the second straight game, Lamar County will face off against Sulligent. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lamar County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Sulligent 14-6 on Monday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Saban Stephens and Ridge Brown did most of the damage at the plate: Stephens went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI, while Brown got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two stolen bases gave Stephens a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Mclean, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lamar County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Sulligent is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10. As for Lamar County, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 10-10.
