Softball Game Preview: Eustis Panthers vs. Lake Howell Silverhawks

The Eustis Panthers will face off against the Lake Howell Silverhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Eustis 3.2, Lake Howell 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

While Eustis' victory against South Sumter wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Eustis skirted past South Sumter 8-6. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Carson Roden spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ella Fleming, who fired off two home runs, three RBI, and one double while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrianna Covino, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Lake Howell never let their opponents score last Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Seminole. The result was nothing new for the Silverhawks, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Eustis pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Howell, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
