Baseball Game Preview: Flomaton Hurricanes vs. Andalusia Bulldogs

The Flomaton Hurricanes will challenge the Andalusia Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Flomaton comes in on three and Andalusia on four.

Flomaton will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Excel, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Hurricanes put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 7-1 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Hurricanes, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Riley Harrison made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

In other batting news, Kamden Martin was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Chaz Odom, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Andalusia was able to grind out a solid win over Charles Henderson on Friday, taking the game 5-1.

Andalusia's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Flomaton, their victory bumped their record up to 15-8.

Flomaton suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Andalusia in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can the Hurricanes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
