Volleyball Recap: Gate City Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Emma Jobe and Sophie Webb + How To Watch

Gate City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Central Wise Warriors, falling 3-0. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Central Wise scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-18, 25-23.

Gate City's loss came despite strong showings from Sophie Webb and Emma Jobe. Webb had eight digs and one block, while Jobe had 14 digs. Webb is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

Gate City's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Central Wise, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gate City will host John Battle at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central Wise, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cornerstone Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
