Basketball Recap: Sound Christian's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

Sound Christian was the 71-52 winner over Summit Classical Christian School when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sound Christian Lions received a blow on Saturday as they fell 75-58 to the Summit Classical Christian School Archers. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Sound Christian lost, don't look at Makai Resseau. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 19 en route to 18 points and five steals. Resseau's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Moses Stiver, who posted nine points and seven boards.

Will Simon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Summit Classical Christian School, dropping a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Simon a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Hodo, who almost dropped a triple-double on ten points, nine boards, and 13 assists.

Sound Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Summit Classical Christian School, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 17-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sound Christian will challenge Northwest Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sound Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matchups -- so hopefully Northwest Christian likes a good challenge. As for Summit Classical Christian School, they will face off against Muckleshoot Tribal at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Summit Classical Christian School is on a 17-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), Muckleshoot Tribal a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
