Soccer Recap: Shannon Takes a Loss

Shannon lost against Amory two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Shannon Red Raiders lost 9-0 to the Amory Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Red Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Panthers are ranked 41st).

Shannon's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-15-1. As for Amory, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shannon will face off against Ripley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Amory, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Amory take on the Newton County at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
