Oscar Smith needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Zyonna Ellis. The Oscar Smith Tigers walked away with a 46-39 victory over the Great Bridge Wildcats on Friday thanks in part to Ellis, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 9 boards per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Reanna Keaton, who posted 21 points along with six boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Oscar Smith's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Great Bridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Oscar Smith will be taking part in a tournament against Currituck County at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Currituck County will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Oscar Smith surely won't give up without a fight. Great Bridge and South Mecklenburg will round out the year against one another at at 2:00 p.m. on December 28th.
