Soccer Recap: Wilmington Comes Up Short

After flying high against Slippery Rock on Wednesday, Wilmington came back down to earth. The Greyhounds came up short against the Neshannock Lancers on Saturday, falling 7-2. If Wilmington were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to Neshannock when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Wilmington's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Neshannock, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1-1.

Looking ahead, Wilmington will welcome Greenville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Neshannock, they will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Chartiers-Houston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neshannock will be up against Chartiers-Houston's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.4 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
