Football Game Preview: Lake Nona Lions vs. Tohopekaliga Tigers + How To Watch

The Lake Nona Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Tohopekaliga Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tohopekaliga took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lake Nona, who comes in off a win.

Lake Nona is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Timber Creek 48-8 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Among those leading the charge was Kendrell Kimmons, who rushed for 42 yards and two touchdowns. Those two rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Tohopekaliga lost 44-21 to St. Cloud on Friday.

Lake Nona will need to focus on slowing down AJ Wise, one of several Tohopekaliga players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 107 receiving yards and one TD. Wise has become a key player for Tohopekaliga: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 receiving yards, but 2-3 otherwise. Bradley Weck also helped out as he racked up 101 receiving yards.

Tohopekaliga didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Caiden White. Tohopekaliga received some extra help from Adrian Rosa, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Lake Nona's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Tohopekaliga, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Lake Nona strolled past Tohopekaliga in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 17-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
