Football Recap: Southwest Comes Up Short

Southwest played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 74-6 defeat at the hands of the Doral Academy Firebirds. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-6.

Livan Morales threw for 59 yards and one touchdown. Artavis West Jr was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards and one score.

Southwest's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Doral Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Southwest will head out on the road to square off against Coral Gables at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Doral Academy, they will be playing at home against Edison at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Raiders will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
